The ATA Lopez Foundation was born from lived experience — a family's journey navigating the world of disability, and a determination to make that path easier for others.
Our Story
A Foundation Built on Lived Experience
The ATA Lopez Foundation was founded by Paije Lopez, a mother, advocate, and community builder whose personal journey raising three children with medical complexities ignited a passion for creating change. After experiencing firsthand, the challenges families face — from navigating IEPs to finding inclusive community spaces — Paije knew she had to do more.
What started as a desire to help one family grew into a mission to support thousands. Today, the Foundation serves families across Louisiana, providing advocacy, education, resource navigation, caregiver support, and inclusive community experiences that help every individual feel seen, valued, and empowered.
We believe that no family should have to navigate the complexities of disability alone. Through our programs, partnerships, and community events, we are building a world where individuals with disabilities and their families are fully included, supported, and celebrated.
